Happy Monday

Hey, guys, happy Monday!

I had a busy day, today. Woke up half past five in the morning talking to my parents. Got from bed at 7 a.m, does the laundry and prepare everything needed for the day. After my swimming, sat by the pool the whole morning with my beloved patient Sara.LOL! And in the afternoon after lunch I went food shopping, and Oh, gosh the heat of the sun was unbearable.. .it's killing me. Glad I got home at half past four in the afternoon.

Ops, the day of the caregiver is not over yet. I'm making dinner now and as I opened the freeze I noticed that most of the veggies stuff are red and yellow. So, I get m camera and took a shoot.

This is my entry for Mellow Yellow Monday and Ruby Tuesday!

Successful Dinner

Last night Sara and I hosted a Friday night's dinner. Most often Sara's daughter invited us but because she went for a wedding yesterday afternoon and didn't have time to make for Friday night's dinner. Sara decided to invite them. (Yabang nga eh, parang siya naman mag luluto).LOL! And of course, she cannot almost see, I'm the one who does the cooking.

I'm always scared when Sara invite her daughter, not because she is horrible person. She is not horrible, she is very generous and very kind to me. I'm just scared because, I have to make it nice and perfect. Not to impressed them but they are picky and they only eat fish and vegetable. No chicken, no meat.

Then.........the night start with

My baked Salmon, was a quick shoot. They might say, I'm meshugana (crazy) if they saw me taking pictures. That's why I don't have picture of my creamy tomato soup and for our appetizers Sara asked me to serve Watermelon.
Our main course
Salmon with baked potatoes, grilled sweet potatoes, peas and beans. I made curried sauce also and poured into the Salmon. Curry sauce is David and Anne favorite. So, that's an added bite for the dinner. I don't have picture when it served because they were helping me in the kitchen.

Lemon maringue pie that we bought yesterday in town and Chocolate with almond and pecan ice cream

I thought I cannot make it , but yes, it was a successful dinner indeed! Happy Weekend to All

Sauteed Corned Beef

Sometime ago, I was craving corned beef. So, I bought a tin of corned beef and I sauteed it with union and garlic then voila I got a Sauteed Corned beef and decorated with cherry tomatoes.

Unfortunately, when I served it on the table, Sara asked what it was. So, I said sauteed corned beef. She said, I'm not allowed to bring thrift goods in her house. I was shocked because it was  beef and I bought it from an Israeli shop. To make the story short, a threw it but before I discarded, I have a picture taken.

Hanggang picture na lang ako. Can you imagine how I feel. I never been given. My craving turned out to diet. I was really annoyed and upset. I didn't eat lunch neither a dinner.

Tips for Managing a Modern Kitchen

I'm getting excited with my new little house soon. And I am looking forward to make or design some improvements of my kitchen. Perhaps you noticed that I am a kitchen person. Oh yeah!, love to stay in the kitchen. If you cannot find me in my room, definitely you can find me in the kitchen.

I love that my kitchen worktops looks beautiful, so, after spending time searching for the right granite worktops. I found this recommended steps to take before , during and after fitting a new kitchen worktop.

Before the fitting :

1. Find a quality product - After deciding which style most suitable to your kitchen and within your budget the first step is to source a reputable seller from which to buy.

2. Measure Correctly - In order to determine the right size of worktop to purchase measure the width and length of the current worktop. Consider adding 8% on top of this measurement for waste. If the worktop is to be professionally fitted consider asking the filter to double check your measurements. .

3. Clear the Kitchen - Create a clear work environment so the person fitting the worktop is able to concentrate on the work. Remove the old worktop and any electrical appliances which might interfere. If you have kids or pets running around place the old worktops outside the property or even better remove it on the day.

During Fitting :

1. Supervise the fitting - Kitchen worktop fitting should not really exceed a day's work. Consider the day off to concentrate on supervising the work to ensure is there to give a quick answer should a problem arises.

2. Make alternative plans - If you are used to congregate every lunch time in the kitchen make alternative plans to give the fitters plenty of room to work (in peace and quiet_. Consider taking the family out of the property as you will not be able use to worktop until the work has ended.

After the Fitting :

1. Dispose of the old work top - Make plans to safely dispose of the old worktop and the packaging of the new worktop. One option is to take it to a local certified dumpster or the second option is to negotiate its disposal with the fitters.

2. Inspect the build quality - Before the fitters finish their work, inspect it together highlighting any possible imperfections found and that your expectations are 100% met. By highlighting  those before the fitters leave it can be resolved then and there.

Weekend Food Trip

I missed the food trips here because I was busy with my cousin who stayed with me for the whole weekend. But I never missed the real food ^-^.

Last Friday, I made this Grilled Chicken with slices of lemon inside, rosemarie, sweet paprika, pepper and Oil. Served this for our Friday night dinner, with rice and little side dishes such as grilled sweet potato, peas and beans with nuts. And apple crumble for dessert that I made the day before with ice cream!
